MacOS 11.4 fixed SSD wear issue on Mac with M1

Earlier this year, we talked about an issue that began to worry owners of Macs with the Apple M1 System-on-Chip: the SSD drive quickly wore out.

Some computer owners complained that after a couple of months of use, the wear rate was about 10-13%. It turned out that the problem is software. It was fixed in the macOS Big Sur 11.4 update.

It is not yet known what changes Apple made to the code, but you can find it on GitHub. Probably, very soon we will find out what exactly we fixed.

Install the update and don’t worry about fast wear and tear.
