Julia Amess, the widow of Conservative MP Sir David Amess, has visited the site of her husband’s death.
She arrived on Monday morning with tearful friends and family at Belfairs Methodist Church, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, to view the hundreds of flowers and tributes piled high in memory of her late husband.
Sir David was stabbed multiple times during a constituency surgery on Friday and later succumbed to his injuries.
Wiping tears from her eyes, Mrs Amess read messages left by well-wishers.
The family members, who stayed for 15 minutes, comforted one another, with an arm placed firmly around Mrs Amess during the visit.
