In the UK, the Tangle Teezer is deemed the detangling hero which I’ve been using happily for years, therefore I wasn’t expecting the WetBrush to top it, but if Rachel from Friends has one in her kit then who am I to argue?
If I’m honest, if you have thick or full hair (mine is fine but abundant) the Pro Flex Dry edition that Jennifer Aniston uses is quite the buy. Similar to the Tangle Teezer, it is designed in a curve that mimics the shape of your scalp to easily smooth through wet hair, which also cuts down drying time due to its vented back.
What I particularly like about this WetBrush is the ergonomic rubber handle, which makes it easier to grip. The prongs meanwhile are sturdy enough to stimulate your scalp while sparse enough to flow through a thick mane of hair without dragging and pulling, making it suitable for all hair lengths and textures. Though I doubt those with a fine, short hairstyle would benefit as much as someone with Aniston’s hair type.
Despite its name, I don’t just use the WetBrush wet, it remains in my bag and on my desk for those times when I need to spruce up my hair before an event as it detangles a stale morning blowdry without disrupting your style.
Of course if you’re craving a smooth silky finish like Adele’s then you’d need a natural bristle brush like a Mason & Pearson – p.s. Kent does a similar version for a more affordable price.
But, honestly, if you’ve got longish hair that is prone to knots and kinks then it’s hard to beat the prowess of this brush for the price – which at £14.99 is less than a nice bottle of Provencal. I’ll be ordering a few for my girlfriends this Xmas – along with a case of French Rose. I know which will last longer.
