The first stage of collecting proposals for renaming five Kyiv metro stations has been completed.
The head of the Kiev Metro, Viktor Braginsky, announced the completion of the first stage of collecting proposals for renaming five stations and the start of the second round.
In total, 18,812 applicants submitted their ideas.
He wrote about this on Facebook.
Currently, 5 most popular options for each station have been selected for the next stage of the rating. The second stage of online voting will last until May 9.
Among the options:
- “Minskaya” – “Varshavskaya” and “Vyshgorodskaya”.
- “Heroes of the Dnieper” – “Heroes of Mariupol” or “Heroes of Ukraine”.
- “Friendship of Peoples” – “Botanical” and “European”.
- “Leo Tolstoy Square” – “Vasily Stus” or “Lena Kostenko”.
- “Beresteyskaya” – “Buchanskaya” and “Irpenskaya”.
“There were also quite exotic options. For example, the names “Borsch”, “Reactive Geese” and “Tractornaya” were proposed for “Minskaya”. “Beresteyskaya” was proposed to be renamed “Palyanitsa”, and “Friendship of Peoples” into “Bayraktar” or “Chernobaevskaya”. Among the options for the “Heroes of the Dnieper” was “Chervona Kalina,” the report says.
