In this review, let’s talk about mega budget TWS headphones called TWS OKI or as they are also called HTW-LX1 from HIPER. It’s amazing that in our time you can still buy any wireless headphones for that kind of money. In general, let’s see what happened in the end, but for this we have to talk about everything in order.

TWS-headphones are delivered in an almost square package made of thick cardboard. On the front side, you can see the charging case and headphones against the background of some kind of explosion in purple. On the left side are the features of the model, and on the opposite side are the color options.

On the back are the technical characteristics of the device, which are fully painted in Russian.

The package includes:

• charging case with headphones;
• USB A to Type-C charging cable;
• instruction manual (completely in Russian);
• additional ear pads (S, M, L);

Appearance

Let me remind you that the reviewed model is sold in four colors: blue, black, white and pink. The charging case is made of ordinary plastic, on which there are practically no fingerprints.

The upper part of the case is completely smooth and there is nothing on it, from the word at all. On the front there is only a notch designed for easy opening of the lid.

On the bottom of the charging case there is information about the device itself, and on the back side there is a Type-C charging connector. I was very surprised, because it is nice to get such a connector for such money. To the left of the connector is an information indicator that lights up red when the case is charging and blue when it is charged up to 100%. We will talk about autonomy in more detail a little later.

The lid is securely held with magnets and it is not so easy to open it with one hand. Unfortunately, in the closed and open position, the lid walks a little. But it should be noted that this is almost imperceptible, especially in the open position of the case. And it opens and closes quite pleasantly, I think there should be no complaints here.

Inside the charging case, you can see only the headphone seats and nothing else. There are no marks like “R” and “L”. But, to be honest, there is no need for this. Contacts for charging the headphones are located on the seats of the headphones, which are still made of glossy plastic.

Inside, the headphones are also held with the help of magnets, and I must say that the magnets are powerful and securely fix them. But, if you mix up the headphones and start trying to put the left earpiece in the seat under the right earpiece, then nothing will come of it. The magnets are straight and will repel the wrong earpiece.

The earbuds themselves are made of the same plastic as the charging case. On the outside there is a touch area and an indicator that flashes red and blue during charging and the first connection with a smartphone (or any other device).

On the inside there are contacts for charging. Manufacturers installed a microphone next to the speaker. We’ll talk about the operation of the microphone a little later. The sound guide is short and covered with a metal mesh.

I can not say that they confidently sit in my ears. Even initially, the headphones were equipped with medium size ear cushions (M), which I had to replace with S. It got better, but not by much. This is all, of course, individually, but there is still a false feeling that they are about to fall out of the ears. But, in fact, even when shaking your head, they remain in your ears. It may take some time to just get used to it.

Management and pairing

Let me remind you that the headphones have touch control through which you can:

• one touch on any of the headphones – play or pause music, and in this way you can receive a call during a call;
• double tap on the left / right earpiece – switch the music to the previous / next;
• triple tap on the left / right earpiece – decrease / increase the volume of the sound;
• touch for two seconds during a call – reject the call;
• touch for three seconds – call the voice assistant;
• touching for more than three seconds on the left / right earpiece – turns off / on the left / right earpiece;

I would like to note that to control you need to confidently touch the touch area. On the one hand, this pleases, since there are no accidental clicks, but, on the other hand, you have to poke the earpiece in your ear to perform any action. This is not critical, I would even say that management is well implemented here. Sensors do not work through the cap, as, for example, with AirPods 2.

As for pairing headphones with devices, everything is elementary simple. To connect them to a smartphone, you need to pull them out of the charging case. Next, on the phone, go to the Bluetooth settings and wait a bit. After a while, HIPER OKI should appear in this section.

This model does not have auto-pause sensors, and therefore, removing them from the ears while playing music, the headphones will continue to play the track further. Each time taking them out of the case, the girl in the headphones constantly notifies about this “headset on … left channel, headset on … right channel.” I personally don’t really like it, but after a while you quickly get used to it and stop paying attention to it at all.

sound

I’ll start with the volume margin, which is not so much here. If you like to listen to music loudly, then most likely you will have to scroll the volume up to 90%, or even up to 100%. I consider myself an ordinary user and therefore 60% volume is enough for me. On the volume scale compared to AirPods 2, they lose by about 15%.

I will evaluate the sound from the point of view of an ordinary user. People who are not at all versed in sound will generally find it difficult to notice the difference in sound between the monitored headphones and, for example, AirPods 2 for ~ twelve thousand rubles. It can be emphasized that at maximum volume there are some distortions at low frequencies (bass).

I was also pleased that all the music does not go straight to the head, but there is still at least some kind of scene. That is, listening to, for example, any 8D music, there is an effect of sound movement around the listener.

Watching videos on YouTube, series on websites or listening to audio books through them can be done without any problems.

Microphone

I did not have any expectations from the performance of the microphone and for good reason. Through them it will be possible to talk only in a quiet environment and at the same time it will be necessary to speak very clearly, since there is some hiss during the conversation. On the street, and even more so in public transport, it’s definitely not possible to talk.

autonomy

The battery capacity in one earphone is 50 mAh, and in the charging case 200 mAh. On one full charge, the headphones worked for about 3 hours and 30 minutes. And this is still at the maximum volume level and it is also worth noting that they still have 30% charge left, I did not manage to completely discharge them, since it was time to sleep. This is a very excellent result.

Unfortunately, you can’t find out the remaining charge level on the case, but you can find it on the headphones. For example, on the iPhone 11, the remaining charge can be seen using the widget and the upper right corner.
