Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, does not exclude that Russia will decide on a second offensive and again want to capture Kyiv and other cities of northeastern Ukraine.
At the same time, Arestovich says he cannot predict whether Putin will dare to call for mobilization, because the Kremlin dictator makes a decision “at a click in his head.”
Arestovich said this in a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feigin.
“The military aid package (from Western partners. – Ed.) is voted at the end of May. While it has been voted, until the weapons arrive. Before my early forecasts, it was necessary – when it was not yet clear when they would vote – another month to be added. This is a very long story “, – says the adviser to the chairman of the OP.
Arestovich assumes that at this time the Russians will be able to gather their strength, conduct a covert unofficial mobilization and re-offensive on Kyiv.
“A second offensive is quite possible – against Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkov, etc. Everything is possible at such a pace. This is a very old story, until the sanctions take effect, until the weapons arrive … These are months – not even weeks,” he notes.
