Meghan Markle has removed from Archewell’s official website all references to the animated film “Pearl”, which was supposed to be released as part of their contract with Netflix.
After leaving the royal family in 2020, Meghan and her husband Prince Harry founded Archewell Productions to create series, documentaries, features and children’s programs, and The Pearl was expected to be the first animated series produced by the production company. Duchess Meghan became the executive producer of the animated series, and David Furnish was supposed to be the producer. However, Netflix canceled filming due to a wave of cutbacks caused by the streaming service’s drop in subscriber numbers.

The Duchess of Sussex decided to remove any mention of this cartoon from their official Archewell website. As a reminder, Netflix made several cuts in late April and early May, including ditching two other children’s shows and laying off staff.
Despite the abandonment of Pearl (the original title of the cartoon), insiders said Netflix remains optimistic about the Archewell deal and is planning several projects, including a documentary series called Heart of Invictus, which was filmed at the recently held Invictus Games in The Hague, founded by Prince Harry back in 2014, writes the Daily Mail .

Meanwhile, members of the British royal family, and, in particular, Harry’s brother Prince William, are concerned that the Sussexes’ arrival for the platinum anniversary will take place not only so that the monarch gets to know her great-grandchildren Archie and Lilibet, but also so that Megan and Harry had a lot to tell in his projects for Netflix.
