The heart of the famous Ukrainian Paralympic swimmer, multiple champion and prize-winner of international competitions Denis Dubrov stopped beating.
At the age of 33, the master of sports of Ukraine of international class, 11-time winner of the Paralympic Games Denis Dubrov died.
This was reported by the Dnipro Swimming Federation on its Facebook page. Causes of death are not specified.
“The Swimming Federation of the city of Dnipro expresses its deep condolences to the family and loved ones, to the entire swimming community of our country. At the age of 33, the famous Ukrainian swimmer Denis Dubrov died,” the message says.
Denis Dubrov is the champion and prize-winner of the Summer Paralympic Games. He won 8 medals at the Rio 2016 Games and three medals at Tokyo 2020.
He competed in class S10 and then S8 (musculoskeletal injury). It includes athletes with amputated limbs and those with cerebral palsy.
In total, in his career, Dubrov won 4 gold medals at the Paralympic Games, and was also a two-time world champion among Paralympians and a 4-time European champion.
In addition, Dubrov is the current record holder of Ukraine in the 200-meter individual medley. In 2016, Denis was awarded the Order of Merit, III degree.
