Hot fresh bread without much effort. Review and impressions of the Kenwood BM 256 bread machine

For quite a long time, our family has acquired such a miracle of technology as a Kenwood bread machine. Below I will try to tell a little about it and share my impressions.

So, we have been using such a unit for about two years now. I will not say that it is used directly daily, but a couple of times a month for sure. Despite the many different functions, the main task of the bread machine in our family is, oddly enough, to bake bread. Now about the device in more detail.

Package

The bread machine is packed in a cardboard box with foam inserts. All packaging is decorated with the image of the product and brief characteristics.

Inside we are waiting for the bread machine itself, a variety of literature and a collection of recipes and tips.

Description

The body of the bread maker is rectangular made of stainless steel with a plastic lid. On all sides, except for the front, there are holes for cooling in the case.

A wire about a meter long is connected to the back, and there is a power button.

On the lid on the right side there is a display and control buttons, and the left side opens to access the bowl. On the opening part there is a viewing window for observing baking and a hint on programs. But I want to note that for me personally it is of little use, nothing can be seen without backlighting, and you can’t really define something by sight.

Inside there is a ten and a mechanism that rotates the spatula in the bowl. The bowl has a handle for easy removal and installation, and is also coated with a non-stick coating. It also has two ribs, possibly for rigidity, but this is not certain, and so on these ribs the coating was very quickly wiped off, and naturally now everything sticks to them. The blade is also coated with anti-stick.

Control

Operating the stove is extremely simple and intuitive. Five buttons with the image of what they are responsible for will help us with this. Below the display are two small buttons responsible for the time, just below the four main buttons – weight, menu, power, crust selection, as well as the lowest and largest, responsible for quick baking.

For more details, it is worth stopping at the Quick Bake button. I didn’t like it at all, since the speed is achieved by reducing the time for the dough to approach and knead. The bread is not so airy and not very soft. In short, if your goal is to bake a piece of brick, then this button is everything. At least that’s how it is for me.

The display shows the selected mode, cooking time and horizontal stripes underline the weight and type of crust. To change the mode and additional functions, press the corresponding buttons. During operation, vertical stripes indicate at what stage your bread maker is now.

Bakery

I must say right away that I mainly bake either bread or a cake, as they are baked quickly and without problems. There is a huge selection in the recipe book, but most of them require either a lot of time or ingredients that I have not heard of. A bread maker was bought to facilitate baking, and therefore a five-hour recipe with 20 points of preparation, kneading, straining and whipping is not mine. Therefore, my choice is the simplest recipes, and if you wish, you can already upgrade them. And so, this is a recipe for plain bread and Caribbean bread for tea.

In fact, the first one is yeast-leavened bread, I threw all the ingredients into the oven, turned it on, and she gave you the finished product herself. But she bakes his pancake for 3 hours with a penny, this must be taken into account. If desired, you can add fried onions, grated cheese, peppers and anything else. Photo of the bread below.

The second option is the same bread, but without yeast, and therefore it turns out like a cake in consistency. Below is a photo of the entire baking process.

Strictly according to the recipe, mix all the liquid ingredients and separately all the dry ones, and then everything in a bunch. I add coconut flakes and vanillin or orange zest to dry ones, and sometimes lemon concentrate to liquid ones. What is available, then I interfere there, it turns out very tasty with nuts and dried apricots.

Everything is mixed and we turn on the 7th program, the oven itself will mix and cook everything. This bread needs to be checked, otherwise mine is undercooked, you need to separately put it on baking and bake for another 20 minutes (it all depends on the filling). After baking, be sure to take out the bread and put it on something that is ventilated from below, and remove the spatula (if you immediately leave it on the board, the bread will become wet from the bottom and get wet). Outcome

This bread maker is an extremely good thing, but it is not included in the list of mandatory purchases for a comfortable life. If you have the financial ability, you can get one. Of course, newer models are already on sale, but a bread maker of this kind is quite capable of doing its job. With a spatula and a bowl, you need to be especially careful, otherwise replacing them costs a lot of money. If the coating in the bowl is severely damaged, then everything will stick to it, and tearing the bread out of it will be a test.
