Ukrainian athlete Marina Bekh-Romanchuk became a winner of the debut stage of the Diamond League season in the capital of Qatar.
Marina Bekh-Romanchuk, who won silver at the World Indoor Championships in March, has repeated her success at the Diamond League competitions.
A native of the Khmelnytsky region won the silver medal in the triple jump, and not in her usual discipline – long jump.
Bekh-Romanchuk in the fifth attempt made a jump of 14 meters 73 centimeters – for Marina this is a personal record. The result of the Ukrainian was surpassed only by the representative of Jamaica, Shanika Ricketts, with the best result of the season in the world – 14.83. Bronze went to Thea Lafond from Dominica (14.46).
Earlier, TSN Prosport reported that the Ukrainian team set a historical record for the number of gold medals at the Deaflympiad.
