On May 12, the Verkhovna Rada supported bill No. 7371 on the forced seizure of objects of property rights of Russia and its residents (persons who have close contact with the Russian Federation).

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament stressed that this is the first decision of the Verkhovna Rada aimed precisely at the real confiscation of the property of residents.

“Secondly, we voted for a law on amending certain laws regarding the effectiveness of sanctions related to the assets of individuals. In particular, a new type of sanctions was introduced – this is the recovery of assets belonging to an individual or legal entity to the state revenue. It can only be applied during the period martial law, but necessarily by a court decision . The judicial procedure is such that the consideration of these cases will “destroy” the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court collectively with the possibility of an appeal review of the decision. a necessary mechanism so that those who support the occupiers, collaborators and other persons receive an appropriate response from the state,” the head of the BP said.
