New satellite imagery from Maxar Technology shows a missile attack by Ukrainian defenders on an occupying landing ship near Zmeiny Island.
The images show two puffs of smoke from a Russian Serna-class landing ship in the Black Sea. It looks like the ship makes a sharp turn, and the rocket hits the water.
CNN writes about it.
Near Snake Island, next to another sunken ship, a barge with a heavy crane is visible. According to Maxar, this is also a Russian Serna-class amphibious assault ship.
It is not yet known exactly how the ship sank. At the same time, Sergei Bratchuk, a spokesman for the Odessa Regional Military Administration, said earlier that a landing craft had sunk, as well as two Raptor-class patrol boats.
In addition, according to Bratchuk, the Ukrainian military also destroyed a Russian helicopter on the island. The Southern Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine then released a video showing how a Ukrainian missile hit the helicopter.
Recall that on May 12, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the enemy ship Vsevolod Bobrov. This ship is one of the newest in the Russian fleet.
