Gazprom does not even use the paid transit capacity through Ukraine

The Russian “Gazprom” does not even use the already paid and booked transit capacities through the “Sudzha” point.

The paid capacity of Gazprom is 77.2 million cubic meters of gas, but at present physical transit reaches only 50 million cubic meters per day.

This was announced by the head of the Operator of the gas transmission system of Ukraine Serhiy Makogon.

In addition, he noted, the Operator is ready to transit volumes from the Sokhranovka point occupied by the Russians through the Sudzha point, that is, the entire transit volume is 109.6 million per day, and its total technical capacity reaches 244 million cubic meters of gas.

“That is, not only the volumes of the existing transit (109.6 million), but also almost the entire volume of Nord Stream 1 (155 million per day) can pass through Sudzha. Ukraine has the ability to transit sufficient volumes of gas to the EU, the moment the EU imposes a full embargo on Russian gas,” he stressed.

Makogon noted that for Ukraine, transit is a guarantee that the enemy will not deliberately destroy the Ukrainian GTS, which is also used to transport gas to our consumers.

Earlier it became known that Gazprom’s sales to key foreign markets in April fell to the lowest level in the last three months, as customers turned to cheaper supplies of LNG. Since the beginning of 2022, the company has pumped 175.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 2.5% less than a year ago.
