President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the extremely difficult situation in Donbas, and also said that it takes time and a lot of effort to reverse the advantage of the occupiers in the amount of equipment and weapons.
At the same time, the Russian occupiers understand that this war does not make sense for them and they have no chance.
The head of state said this in a video message on May 24.
“Now the situation in Donbass is extremely difficult. In fact, all the power of the Russian army, which they still have, has been thrown there for the offensive. Liman, Popasnaya, Severodonetsk, Slavyansk – the occupiers want to destroy everything there ,” Zelensky said.
“But in the intercepts of their conversations, we hear that they are perfectly aware that this war does not make sense for Russia and that strategically their army has no chance . But it takes time and a lot more extraordinary efforts of our people to reverse their advantage in numbers equipment and weapons,” the President stressed.
Recall that earlier the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, said that in order to liberate the territories from the invaders , Ukraine needs more weapons and tougher sanctions against Russia.
