In Ukraine, a psychological assistance service will be created to support survivors of the war. This was announced by Elena Zelenskaya, speaking at the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, the highest governing body of WHO.

Ukrainians who survived the occupation, shelling, bombing, need psychological support and rehabilitation.

We must make peace out of war and are launching the National Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program.
This is another challenge we face – the battle for the mental health of our people. After what the Ukrainians experienced in the occupation, at the front, in bomb shelters, under shelling, in a foreign land, they need rehabilitation just like they were physically injured,” the first lady wrote in an Instagram post.

Zelenskaya also recalled that the WHO is called upon to protect the most important human rights – to life and health. These rights are now violated in Ukraine due to the armed attack of the Russian Federation.

So they are launching a nationwide initiative to promote mental health and psychosocial support.
“This ambitious task is to turn stress and pain into strength and inspiration, evil into good. But hasn’t the whole of Ukraine been doing this for three months already? So let’s continue. To victory,” the President’s wife summed up.
