Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, explained why the Russians, despite statements that “the special operation is going according to plan,” are in a hurry to push back the front line in Donbas.
Arestovich said this in an interview with Russian journalist and human rights activist Mark Feigin.
“First, this is very necessary for internal Russian purposes. Or someone gave the word that, for example, until June 1, and now they are “squeezing out” everything. That is, some kind of schedules in the Russian elite, where someone promised,” said the adviser to the head of the OP.
According to him, the activity of the occupiers in the Donbass is not connected with the expectation of a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the summer. According to the representative of the OP, the Kremlin is trying to impose peace talks to which Ukraine and the West must agree.
“The second point. Considering the number of their emissaries in the West and the frank attempt to buy the votes of some Western politicians, they (Russia. – Ed.), Obviously, want to show the West some ability to solve their problems and involve Ukraine in the discussion about “Minsk-3 “To show that, despite the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people, they still succeeded – they captured the entire Lugansk region and will soon capture the Donetsk region,” says Arestovich.
Nevertheless, he assured that there would be no “Minsk-3”.
Earlier, the head of the Luhansk OVA, Serhiy Gaidai, said that the situation in the Lugansk region was deteriorating every hour .
