Negotiations on the creation of an “OPEC for grain” are currently underway.
Ukraine has proposed the creation of an organization of grain exporting countries, which will include the world’s key grain exporters – the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine and the EU.
This was announced by Advisor to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmitrasevich.
“We want the world’s main grain exporters – the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine, the EU – to unite to protect their own interests in the world market,” he explained.
According to him, the countries of the organization could comply with unfriendly import ban measures jointly. And if a member of the Organization were prohibited from importing into a certain country, this would be considered a violation of the interests of all.
Recall that Ukraine has established two alternative land routes for the delivery of food exports.
