The head of development for God of War in 2018 and the upcoming, so far unnamed game of the series, Cory Barlog, commented on the recent transfer of the new part in his microblog.
Recall that the next God of War was presented in September 2020 as a 2021 release. Since then, the project has not received a single demonstration, and at the beginning of June 2021 it became known that the premiere was postponed to 2022.
Not all fans of God of War took the news of the delay properly: one fan decided to vent his displeasure on Alanah Pearce, a former IGN editor and now a screenwriter at Santa Monica Studio.
Barlog did not ignore the verbal attack on his colleague: “Want to go off on someone for anything God of War – transfer, PS4 / 5, trolls, subtitle size, Sigrun, whatever – get mad at me.”.
The developer motivated such a selfless appeal by the fact that he himself made all the decisions that somehow led to the current situation, including the unfortunate transfer.
I did.
and I was wrong.
that’s on me.

In a conversation with another user, Barlog also assured that the initial announcement (with the promise of a release in 2021) was not an attempt to deceive the players: according to the director, he was really convinced that the target dates were achievable.
News about the next God of War for the current week does not end with one transfer. As it became known from a recent interview with the President of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst (Hermen Hulst), the game will be released not only on PS5, but also on PS4.
