As promised, as part of today’s release of State of Play, Insomniac Games has shared a 16-minute cutscene and additional details on the action-adventure platformer Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
The developers began the demonstration with a long (about 8 minutes) section in the magapolis Nefarius City from an alternate dimension. Ratchet and Clank are separated, and Lombax goes in search of a friend.
Insomniac Games notes that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart characters have become “Much faster”: in particular, Ratchet learned to run on walls and dash, which will allow him to create “Exciting combo chains”.
About 7 minutes more of the presentation was dedicated to Lombax girl Rivet, who can also be played in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. During her adventure, the protagonist, along with Clank, found herself on an exotic planet.
As part of both excerpts, Insomniac Games managed to demonstrate several of the weapons available in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and talk about the features of the DualSense controller associated with their use.
Finally, the developers told what else to expect from the game: open locations, Clank puzzles, Glitch challenges, a battle arena, air battles, spatial pockets, photo mode and accessibility settings.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will go on sale June 11 this year, exclusively for PS5. Thanks to the high-speed SSD, the project realizes almost instant downloads and transitions between measurements.
