Positioning
1More is remembered by me and many Russian consumers as one of Xiaomi’s partners and as a small but ambitious startup that challenged no less Apple and their Beats line. An active start and two years of successful sales in China resulted in expansion into the markets of the United States and other countries outside the Middle Kingdom. At the beginning of this year, 1More entered our market as an independent brand, for some reason this event passed me by. It was all the more interesting to test their new TWS headphones with support for active noise canceling – 1More TWS ANC In-ear.
At the moment in the manufacturer’s lineup, this is the only solution with active noise cancellation in its format, there is a model with a neckband, it also supports ANC. Initially, the manufacturer’s headphones cost no more than $ 33, thanks to this price a certain popularity came, now the prices have naturally increased. In terms of price positioning, they are on par with the fancy 1More Spearhead VRX full-size gaming headphones, which is a bit surprising to me. So, let’s get acquainted.
Appearance, controls
Externally, the headphones reminded me of Bose SoundSport Free: similar shapes, glossy body, in-ear arches, a similar secure fit in the ears. The gags are light, protrude slightly from the ears when landing. The 1More TWS ANC In-ear case has a carbon-like texture, it is not felt tactilely, the case surface is smooth. There are touch pads, they are used to switch ANC modes, for this you need to hold your finger on one of the pads for two seconds.
An additional control is a physical button on each of the headphones. Double-clicking on the button is used to answer / end calls and stop / resume playback. A long press for two seconds on the button on the right earphone will turn on the next song in the playlist, the same command on the button on the left earphone will start the current track again. A single press on the right and left earpieces will increase and decrease the volume, respectively, a cool solution – primarily due to its simplicity.
The small case turned out to be more weighty than it seems. It is made of anodized aluminum, painted in dark gray a la Space Gray. On its back there is a Type-C connector, the base is flat, rubberized, the case stands firmly on the table.
Ergonomics, application
The fit of the headphones can be safely called reliable, they will not fly out of the ears, no matter how you shake your head, while there are absolutely no negative sensations: the ears do not hurt, the plugs themselves are light and do not pull the ear off. Commands are read instantly and clearly, while accidental input is unlikely, since basic commands are tied to buttons.
Switching between active noise canceling modes works quickly and without delays, two modes are available – Mild and Strong (medium and strong), as well as a sound transmission mode. All modes can be disabled. To do this, you need to download the 1More Music app, available for both Android (5.0+) and iOS (10.0+). It offers a choice of ANC mode, turning on sound transmission, software updates and a small guide to the headphones. An interesting feature of the application is the choice of action when removing one of the headphones from the ear: you can set either only pause, or pause and automatic resume when the earphone is returned to its place.
An infrared sensor in each earphone is responsible for this functionality, everything here is surprisingly excellent and efficient. Frankly, I expected some kind of delay, which is so common in TWS headphones from China, but this stereotype was not confirmed. In general, in terms of ergonomics, I would call the 1More TWS ANC In-ear quite successful, especially if you choose the eartips for the size of your ear.
Sound quality, battery life
Audiophiles will be glad to hear that the model claims support for the aptX codec, its presence for many is a key point. By the nature of the sound, we can say that yes, it is better with him. But not a single codec, as they say, the hybrid headphone driver consists of a reinforcing element responsible for high frequencies, and a titanium main speaker, which produces clear mids and confident low frequencies. I liked the nature of the sound, however, in some songs the bass seemed overly pronounced, there was a little boom – maybe taste, but noted such cases. There is no equalizer in the app, which is a pity.
As for active noise cancellation, it works no worse and no better than colleagues in the shop: stable cut-off of external noise up to 35 dB, in the conditions of the house – complete silence, on the street some sounds are still heard, especially high-pitched and loud voices are heard. If you pause the song, then you can hear a barely noticeable antiphase signal, there is nothing critical in this. Electronic audio cut-off (ENC) is activated when making a call via headphones. The interlocutors noted adequate volume during the conversation, there was a slight echo, as if some words were being swallowed. Maxim Lyubin, who had experience testing the brand’s headphones, warned me about the poor quality of voice transmission, but apparently the company took into account the negative reviews and tightened this part.
1More TWS ANC In-ear supports Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus protocol. Its algorithm for direct connection to both headphones improves autonomy, which, when compared with a regular connection, will give a certain increase in work. The indicators are as follows:

Such indicators confidently fit into the overall picture of the current TWS ANC solutions, even slightly above the average. The question is whether a particular smartphone / tablet supports the aforementioned Qualcomm technology, I have come across a mention of support at the level of Snapdragon 845 and newer chips. Fast wired charging will provide 2 hours of play after 15 minutes at the outlet, wireless charging according to the Qi standard is also available, such a charger is not included in the kit.
Competitors, impressions
1More TWS ANC In-ear goes on sale at the end of June, the RRP will be 13 690 rubles. Having weighed all the pros and cons, I came to the conclusion that the price could be a little lower. In fact, it can probably be a little overestimated relative to the proposed RRTs, and there are already excellent Sony WF-1000XM3 nearby, they cost 14 rubles, have an excellent image and a convenient application on their account. For 990 rubles, there are cool-sounding JBL Live 7TWS and a little more unpretentious in terms of sound, but more fashionable and similar to AirPods Huawei Freebuds 990i.
Nevertheless, the model can be called successful, first of all, thanks to almost perfect ergonomics, support for the aptX codec, well-functioning ANC and adequate autonomy for its class. In my opinion, the model would become much more interesting if there was a declared standard of protection against external influences and a price in the region of 10-11 thousand rubles. Quite a good option for those who need protection from external noise without degrading the sound.
