Production will be handled by A24 and Protozoa Pictures. The film is based on the 2012 play of the same name and will be adapted by playwright Samuel D. Hunter. The plot tells about a middle-aged man weighing 270 kg. Once he left the family for a gay lover, who later passed away, and now Charlie is trying to make peace with his 17-year-old daughter.
Darren Aronofsky is best known for his films Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan and Mom! Brendan Fraser is the star of The Mummy films, with one of his last notable roles being Cliff in the Doom Patrol series.
