Positioning
This summer, ZTE introduced a smartphone called the ZTE Blade V2020. In fact, this is a slightly updated Blade 20 Smart, which we already reviewed.
The difference in price between these devices is about 5 rubles, but with the ZTE Blade V000 we get much more chips: a new processor, a better screen, a higher display resolution, a better main camera module, a new version of the operating system and even a proprietary shell. However, the battery has become smaller: 2020 mAh in the old version of the smartphone versus 5000 mAh in the current version.
In terms of positioning, this is a true classic midrange with all the necessary functions, communication capabilities and technologies.
At the same time, ZTE Blade V2020 works as long as possible for its digital niche: it shows up to 7 hours of the screen, plays video for 17 hours. In addition, the device is equipped not with an Amoled matrix, but with an IPS.
Unfortunately, over the summer, the price of the ZTE Blade V2020 smartphone did not fall (16 rubles). I think it was worth moving the Blade 000 Smart to the side and replacing it with the ZTE Blade V20 for the same 2020 rubles. In this case, the device would sparkle with different colors in the eyes of potential buyers.
Appearance, buttons and connectors
Recently, I do not want to pay attention to the design and appearance of modern inexpensive devices, since their appearance has not changed in any way for five years: a large screen, a plastic case, a scanner on the back and the most boring colors. True, the ZTE Blade V2020 has a blue color, but a gadget in black was sent for review.
This color is as easily soiled, so put on a cover right there!
The shape of the case is somewhat strange and slightly spoils the ergonomics. The fact is that the rear panel abruptly transitions to the side edges, but they are already narrowing towards the front panel. As a result, the relatively thin sidewalls cut into the hand.
The back panel is made of plastic. As already said, it is easily soiled, but not slippery. The fingerprint scanner has thin, sharp edges. This means that over time, dust will collect around the perimeter. A module with cameras of the same type.
On the front side there is glass with a high-quality oleophobic coating. The finger glides easily – this is a plus.
On top of the edge is the earpiece. It is loud, sounds clear, the interlocutor can be heard clearly. To the left of it, a front-facing camera was built into the screen.
It is small, so it does not distract from working with the phone.
Below is a whole set of elements: 3.5 mm, microphone, USB-C, speakerphone.
Above is a second microphone and a combined slot for a microSD memory card and nano-SIM.
On the right is a red power button and a black volume rocker, they are very thin and narrow, hardly felt with your fingers.
On the reverse side – a medium-sized module with cameras, a little lower – a flash, and even lower – an oblong-shaped fingerprint sensor. Works quickly, no questions asked.

The complete specification is shown in the table above. The impression from the screen is only positive: the colors are saturated, the brightness is relatively high (on a sunny day, information is read calmly), the pixelation is invisible.
The LTPS matrix is of a high level here, the image seems to float above the display. Compared to Apple iPhone 8 Plus. True, its brightness is even higher.
That is, if you choose an inexpensive phone in terms of “excellent screen quality”, then ZTE Blade V2020 will be the best choice among devices with IPS-screens. Of course, you can look in the direction of Amoled, but it seems to me that these will be budget matrices with all the consequences: picture grain, wild PWM. But yes – high contrast and color saturation.
Working hours
Built-in 4000mAh battery. In general, a common battery for the vast majority of devices. However, autonomy is above all praise here: 17 hours of video playback at maximum brightness, 6.5 hours of toys. Screen glow for about 7 hours. It is easy to squeeze even two full days of autonomy out of the device. Moreover, I received such numbers when two SIM cards were working simultaneously.
You will find an 18W fast charger included in the kit, capable of charging the battery up to 100% in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

In the table with the device parameters, you could already read about the support of 4th generation networks and the presence of two slots for nano SIM cards. The quality of the connection, plus or minus, is similar to similar devices, I cannot single out something extraordinary. There are no deviations with GPS and GLONASS: everything works flawlessly, the accuracy is from 5 meters.
Of the obvious advantages – Wi-Fi ac standard, support for VoLTE and VoWi-Fi, the presence of a full-fledged NFC to pay for purchases and replenish the balance of the Troika card.
By the way, this model for me acted as an access point in the country. Stably distributed 4G for 10-12 hours without a power source.
By the way, the ZTE Blade V2020 contains AAC, aptX / aptXHD and even LDAC codecs.
Memory, chipset and performance
Traditionally, for this kind of devices, there is 4 GB of RAM, and LPDDR4. Its speed is 5700 MB / s, the result, to put it mildly, average, should have been at least 8000 – 10000 MB / s.
The built-in memory in the ZTE Blade V2020 is more than enough – 128 GB (113 GB available). In addition, you can install a microSD memory card up to 512 GB. So, the speed of the built-in memory is 200/250 MB / s. The result is weak, but for a device for 16 rubles, the speed of 000 GB of memory is good.

In the Antutu test, the phone shows about 200 points. Quite at the level of analogues in its price segment. However, these are just numbers. What happens in real life? After the upgrade to MiFavor 000, the smartphone began to behave extremely smartly, but the microlags remained. They appear in micro-delays between the launch of the menu or any applications. That is, the shell behaves unstable, there is no smoothness.
As for throttling, it occurs about 10 minutes after the start of a hard load on the processor: performance drops to 60%. It gives 132 GIPS at the peak, 77 GIPS at the minimum.
The device heats up, but not much, at least there is no discomfort during use.
Software
The smartphone runs under the operating system Google Android version 10. The same version is used in the proprietary shell MiFavor. In fact, this is a “bare” Android with some manufacturer’s add-ons that you shouldn’t pay attention to. The main thing is that there are Google services, all the icons are “native”, and the shell is “clean”.

I’ll start at the end. The macro lens here is purely for the sake of appearance, since the 2 MP module photographs poorly, it is easier to take a 48 MP frame and crop it.
The 2MP camera for blurring the background does its job well. However, I can’t say anything special: give or take the same thing as in any other smartphone from 10 to 000 rubles.
“Shirik” is quite good considering the price of the phone. I liked that the dynamic range is not “crushed”, the colors are pleasant, the “soap” is only at the edges of the pictures. That is, I am quite happy with the wide-angle lens. Usually up to 20 rubles the devices remove much worse!
The main module shoots very well: beautiful natural bokeh, excellent detail, good DD, behaves well in low light levels.
It is worth noting that if you are looking for a smartphone with decent cameras, then this is in front of you. Maybe it loses to some Note 8 Pro from Xiaomi, but the ZTE Blade V2020 is also extremely good.
The maximum video resolution is FullHD for the “width” and the main module. I liked the quality. This device has a “slow motion” mode in HD resolution and 120 FPS.
Total: a worthy contender for the title of an inexpensive camera phone.

Musical possibilities
The speaker volume is high (not stereo), the sound is clear and without clipping. I am sure that most smartphones of similar price play music much quieter.
For a more attractive sound, DTS settings can be applied. Including enable or disable the equalizer.
The ZTE Blade V2020 has a standard 3.5 mm jack. Easily plug in your favorite ears. In addition, for lovers of high-quality wireless sound, ZTE engineers or programmers have built aptx / aptxHD and even LDAC codecs into the device. It remains only to find such TWS headphones.
Well, so that everything is completely fine: among the software you will find FM radio.
Impressions
Let me remind you that the ZTE Blade V2020 smartphone is sold for 16 rubles today. They tried to make it as versatile as possible for their money. I think ZTE did it.
Immediately on the cons. The gadget is somewhat nerdy. What this is connected with is not entirely clear: everything seems to be decent, but there are lags.
Advantages – a carriage and a small cart. I will not describe every positive moment – read the review, it was not in vain that I wrote ?

There are not very many competitors:
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T 4/128 GB. Costs around 15 – 000 rubles. Plus or minus parameters are the same as those of ZTE.
- Realme 6 4/128 GB. The average price is about 16 rubles. Very fast charging, slightly more vigorous processor. Knows how to shoot 000K video.
- HONOR 9X 4/128 GB. The price starts from 13 rubles. Almost the last Honor phone with Google services.
- Samsung Galaxy A51 6/128 GB. You can find it from 18 rubles. As they say – a bestseller. Here you have an AMOLED screen, a lot of memory, and several main cameras, and a 000 mAh battery, and your favorite Exynos processor ?
