The Russian invaders do not stop conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone. The enemy is shelling the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the entire line of confrontation and in the depths of defense in the Donetsk, Slobozhansky and Yuzhnobuzhsky operational areas.

This is stated in the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of the morning of May 24.

The greatest activity of hostilities is noted in the Donetsk operational area, namely, not far from Lisichansk and Severodonetsk.

In the Volyn and Polesye directions , certain units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to carry out tasks to cover the section of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in the Brest and Gomel regions.

There is a growing threat of missile and air strikes on the objects of our state from the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The aggressor moved the Iskander-M OTRK division to the Brest region at a distance of up to 50 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.

In the Seversk direction , the enemy continues to carry out measures to strengthen the cover of the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Bryansk and Kursk regions and prevent our troops from overturning to other directions. The engineering equipment of positions in the areas of the international automobile checkpoint Pogar and the settlement of Sluchovsk, Bryansk region, was noted.

The enemy launched an air strike on the positions of our troops in the area of the settlement of Belopolye, Sumy region.

In the Kharkov direction , the enemy grouping is concentrating its main efforts on holding its occupied positions and improving its tactical position. In particular, the enemy is carrying out assault actions in order to consolidate on the western and northern outskirts of the Ternov settlement.

In the Slavic direction , enemy units are preparing to resume the offensive. The aggressor, in order to support offensive operations, deployed additional barrel artillery units in the southern part of the city of Izyum.

In the Donetsk direction , the enemy is focused on conducting an offensive operation with the aim of cordoning off the cities of Lysichansk and Severodonetsk, followed by access to the administrative border of the Lugansk region.

In the Limansky direction, it is not excluded that the enemy will force the Seversky Donets River in the Dronovka-Belogorovka section. For fire cover for the crossing, the invaders deployed units of rocket and cannon artillery.

In the Severodonetsk direction , the enemy, with the support of artillery, is conducting assault operations in the directions of Toshkovka and Ustinovka.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy improved the tactical situation in the area of the village of Vasilievka.

On the Avdeevsky, Kurakhovsky and Novopavlovsky directions, the enemy carried out a fiery defeat of our units using artillery and aviation.

In the Zaporozhye direction, the occupiers are reinforcing the grouping of troops to resume offensive operations in the Vasilyevka-Kamianske direction. Carry out a regrouping.

In the Yuzhnobuzhsk direction , the enemy continues to concentrate his main efforts on maintaining the occupied lines.

In the Krivoy Rog and Nikolaev directions , the enemy does not stop shelling the positions of our troops.

In the Black Sea and Azov operational zones , the situation has not changed significantly.

The enemy continues to use terror tactics against the Ukrainian civilian population in the occupied territories, and the deterioration of the socio-economic situation in the south and east of Ukraine continues.

Over the past day, 16 enemy attacks were repulsed in the Donetsk and Lugansk directions , 8 tanks, 22 armored vehicles and 1 enemy vehicle were destroyed.

Aviation units of the Air Force and air defense of the Ground Forces destroyed 6 UAVs, 1 enemy cruise missile and 30 armored combat vehicles.

Recall, Irina Venediktova also said that 48 Russian soldiers will soon be tried on suspicion of committing war crimes.
