However, when choosing a smartphone, remember that this is the device that will be in your sight all day. Research suggests that people, on average, look at their smartphones for more than 3 hours a day. Such a significant figure suggests one main characteristic that any device should have, regardless of cost: working with a smartphone should be a pleasure.
If you look deeper, then the abstract “pleasure” can be broken down into quite specific parameters: a nice design, a good screen, pleasing to the eye, sufficient performance so that the interface can fly and you can play, the right battery life, which allows you not to look for an outlet in the middle of the day … One more optional, but rather important item can be added to this list: high-quality photography. Still, smartphones have long occupied the niche of portable cameras.
TECNO Pouvoir 4 perfectly matches all of the above characteristics. At a price of 9 rubles, TECNO Pouvoir 990 becomes one of the best options on the market in terms of price / quality ratio. But first, you need to say a few words about the TECNO Mobile brand itself, which appeared relatively recently (in 4) on the Russian market.

The TECNO Mobile brand belongs to the large Transsion Holdings with offices and R&D centers around the world. Transsion Holdings ranks 6th in the TOP 10 global smartphone manufacturers.
TECNO Mobile’s strategy is simple and rational. The brand has focused on the production of affordable, but high quality phones, working in markets where there is a demand for such solutions.
TECNO Mobile makes quality smartphones at reasonable prices. The slogan of the company is “Expect more”.
Today TECNO Mobile is ranked first in the market for the entire African continent. The company has not only successful sales there, but also a powerful fan community. Slowly, TECNO Mobile is trying the same tactic in other markets. The European markets are probably the most interested in the company, as TECNO has been a sponsor of Manchester City Football Club since 2016.

The product lines of manufacturers relying on affordable products are built by analogy with the players producing flagships for 100 thousand rubles, but adjusted for the price. So, in the TECNO Mobile portfolio, the TECNO CAMON 2020 Pro plays the role of the 15 flagship. This is an excellent smartphone with a motorized front camera, 4 main cameras and a price of 16 thousand rubles. TECNO CAMON 15 Pro was called the world’s first storyphone, hinting at excellent smartphone cameras and software that allows you to immediately share the footage on social networks. In addition to TECNO CAMON 15 Pro, there is a line of SPARK devices and the hero of this article is TECNO Pouvoir 4. In total, in August TECNO Mobile launched 6 new models on the Russian market.
And TECNO Pouvoir 4 for 9 rubles is perhaps the most rational device in the brand’s portfolio. A huge 990-inch screen and a capacious 7 mAh battery (thanks to which the smartphone can work for several days without recharging) are the main advantages. In addition, the Pouvoir 6 has a good chipset (000 nm process technology), 4 cameras, and excellent stereo speakers.

When you open the box, the first thing that catches your eye is a sticker informing you that the smartphone is backed by an extended 12 + 1 warranty. A pleasant gesture indicating that the manufacturer is confident in the quality of his product.
The TECNO Pouvoir 4 has a package not typical for smartphones in this price range. In addition to the smartphone and instructions, the box contains a thick transparent silicone case, a wire and a 10W charging adapter. Usually this is what a standard set looks like, but they also put quite good ergonomic headphones here. Another bonus is a protective dense film specially selected for Pouvoir 4.
Appearance
To divide smartphones into male and female is the last century, but TECNO Pouvoir 4, thanks to its large screen and 6 mAh battery, has impressive dimensions. Probably, it will look most organic in a man’s hand. Although the girls are quite comfortable with the smartphone, since, despite the size, the device is quite light and thin. Only 000 grams and 164 mm thick.
TECNO Mobile went their own way, and instead of the flashy rainbow colors typical for the segment, they presented deep saturated colors with a gradient that play nicely in the light. There are three colors available: jadeite (dark green), violet and dark blue, which is called “cosmic”. Due to the lack of mirror shine, all colors look quite strict, so you can please yourself with an unusual option. For example, purple or blue.

Screen
The smartphone has a 7-inch screen with HD + resolution (1640 x 720 pixels). An IPS matrix with large viewing angles and accurate color reproduction is used. The screen has a high brightness of 480 nits, which allows you to comfortably use the device outdoors even on a clear day. Thanks to thin bezels and a miniature cutout, the screen occupies 90.55% of the smartphone’s front surface area.

A nice feature of IPS screens is the absence of PWM, that is, the screen does not flicker at low brightness. The 20.5 by 9 aspect ratio is ideal for watching movies or YouTube videos. The screen is covered with a premium version of the Japanese protective glass Asahi Glass. Not everyone knows, but Asahi Glass (the company is called AGC Inc) is the largest glass manufacturer in the world and one of the most important companies that make up the core of the Mitsubishi corporation.

Speaking of the screen, one cannot fail to mention a number of software bonuses that TECNO Mobile has added. We will not talk about adaptive backlighting, but we must certainly say about the presence of built-in dark. One of the features of this IPS screen is a low minimum brightness level. Coupled with the dark theme of the interface display and the absence of PWM, this allows you to comfortably use your smartphone even in complete darkness, without fatiguing your eyes.
The TECNO Pouvoir 4 uses a screen with a tiny cutout in the center. It is invisible, but the interface provides the ability to either hide the cutout completely, or use it as a system bar for indicators of charge and network reception.
Battery life
Oftentimes, a large screen means a short battery life. It is quite a logical conclusion, since it is the screen that always consumes the most energy. TECNO Mobile solved the problem by installing a large 6 mAh battery. However, in addition to the battery capacity, hardware and software optimization are also important.
TECNO Pouvoir 4 has complete order in this regard. Firstly, the energy-efficient chipset MediaTek Helio A22 (4 cores x 2.0 GHz), made according to the 12 nm process technology, is used. Interestingly, MediaTek doesn’t have the best image. This is largely to blame for small manufacturers who bought the cheapest hardware from the company and did not bother with optimization. However, in the last couple of years, MediaTek has taken care of its image. I advise you to read the material on this topic. There is every reason to believe that in the next couple of years MediaTek will become the leader in the chipset market.
Secondly, TECNO Mobile is working diligently to optimize software and hardware. By the way, in the middle of summer we had the news that TECNO Pouvoir 4, equipped with the MediaTek Helio A22 (MT6761) chipset, became the first smartphone on the MediaTek platform to receive the beta version of Android 11. Two conclusions can be drawn from this news: the manufacturer is monitoring the relevance of the software, and by purchasing TECNO Pouvoir 4, you can expect that the smartphone will receive an update to the next version of Android.
Tests show that the TECNO Pouvoir 4 holds a charge very well:

The smartphone also has a proprietary TECNO technology to optimize performance in games (and this mode also helps not to be distracted by calls or messages during the game). All this allows you to use your smartphone as a game console.

You can always play Call of Duty Mobile. By the way, the smartphone has advanced stereo speakers with an algorithm for correcting the parameters of sound waves, which provides surround sound reproduction (by the way, the algorithm also works when headphones are connected). Stereo speakers are always good for watching movies, but playing with such sound is a separate pleasure. Explosions and gunshots sound especially juicy.
I would also recommend paying attention to the space simulator Eve Online. The Android version is slightly stripped down compared to the PC, but the game is still very good.
You get pleasure from playing on your smartphone. Still, whatever you say, the big screen is a topic. There is a suspicion that you might want to buy a gamepad for your smartphone. I can give you a little advice. A gamepad with side mounts works best. It will be most comfortable to play.
HiOS 6 shell
Talking about the smartphone, one cannot fail to mention the proprietary shell of the smartphone – HiOS 6, because it is thanks to its smooth operation that the feeling is created that the smartphone is “flying”.
HiOS 6 is a fully customizable shell, lightweight and fast, allowing you to customize your smartphone as much as possible. For example, you can even configure the smartphone to flash when you call.
My favorite highlight is the quick access sidebar, which is accessible from any screen. You can put your favorite applications on it, and there are also tools for creating screenshots, recording, quick access to settings.
HiOS 6 has several features that will appeal to game lovers too. First, there is a Screen Off option where you can keep the game active when the screen is off. This reduces energy consumption by 50%. In a number of games, this option can be very useful.
In addition, there is an extensive “Game Mode” that allows you to prohibit automatic brightness control or configure your smartphone so that annoying notifications and calls are not distracting during the game.
Conclusion
The TECNO Pouvoir 4 is a great smartphone that offers more features and better performance than competitors for a similar price.
As you remember, at the beginning of the article, you mentioned that you can’t find the perfect smartphone. In the case of TECNO Pouvoir 4, perhaps the main miscalculation is the lack of NFC, and therefore Google Pay. It is unpleasant. However, this disadvantage, in my opinion, more than outweighs the positive aspects of the smartphone:
- Two stereo speakers with surround sound and a large HD + screen that’s great for movies and games.
- Up-to-date filling and software. A fresh chipset, the beta version of Android 11 is already being tested, which means that the smartphone will receive an update and security patches.
- 5 cameras. Good portraits and selfies, there is macro photography, and the battery allows you to shoot video for more than 8 hours.
- Powerful 6000mAh battery. 10.5 hours of games is a great indicator. And in normal mode, using a smartphone will be enough for 3-4 days.
- Good equipment. It’s nice that in addition to the obligatory things, the set includes headphones, a case, and a protective film.
- There are no comrades for taste and color, but I will add design to the pros. Calm saturated colors and a light gradient on the back cover, pleasing to the eye.
