Sberbank bought 2GIS
The Russian company 2GIS, engaged in the development of digital maps and city directories, providing geoinformation and hyperlocal services for about 50 million users (MAU) in Russia, the CIS and far abroad, reported that Sberbank signed binding documents on investments in its development and acquisition of a controlling stake …
As a result of the transaction, in which O2O Holding LLC (a joint venture between Sberbank and Mail.ru Group in the food and transport sector) also participates, Sberbank’s share will be 72%, O2O’s share will be 3%, the founders and management will retain 25% in company. Investment funds Baring Vostok and RTP Global will completely withdraw from the capital of 2GIS. The appraisal of 100% of the company’s shares for the purposes of the transaction amounted to 14,3 billion rubles.
On the one hand, it is bad when large holdings buy up independent services, on the other hand, such an infusion can both kill them and give a new life. 2GIS’s strong point is the high-quality detailing of objects with data on passages through courtyards, entrances to the territory and entrances, for which he loves delivery. If now the application falls into the hands of couriers working in services belonging to Sberbank, it can help it develop and make it possible to make the best pedestrian maps in Russia. True, then Citymobil, Sbermarket, Delivery Club will probably be integrated there and one more Yandex.Maps will be obtained.
Sony has officially unveiled the PlayStation 5
The Japanese company Sony has officially unveiled the next generation console – PlayStation 5, as well as games and various accessories for it. As noted by the manufacturer, its novelty stands out for its lightning-fast loading speed thanks to its ultra-fast SSD drive, more effective immersion in the gameplay thanks to tactile feedback, adaptive release buttons and 3D sound, as well as next generation games for it.
In addition to the console itself and its accessories, new games were shown: Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, Returnal, Sackboy A Big Adventure ”and other releases.
The console turned out to be very futuristic and unlike the Xbox Series X, it will be difficult to fit into the classic interior. On the other hand, for the new generation of the console, such a catchy appearance is perhaps appropriate, although in almost any setting it will draw attention to itself. As for new games, I can’t say that there are very interesting offers, for which it is worth queuing up for the console, but at the start it usually happens and only in the first year really worthwhile releases appear. On sale PlayStation 5 should appear closer to Christmas. By the way, I wonder if Sony will release a set-top box in a different color scheme, where the main color will be black, and white will be an additional one, it would also be interesting, and not so catchy.
If you don’t like consoles and prefer to play on a PC, then I recommend you our review of a gaming laptop from Asus:
As for Sony, this week the Japanese manufacturer opened a pre-order for the Sony Xperia 1 II in Russia, which was estimated at 79 rubles. More details here:
OPPO starts selling its new products
Last week, the Chinese company OPPO announced the start of sales in Russia of its two new products, the A52 and A91 models. The first smartphone will cost 17 rubles. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 990, equipped with 665 GB of RAM and 4 GB of permanent storage with the ability to expand it using microSD memory cards, and not to the detriment of one of the SIM cards, since the model uses a triple tray. The display is IPS 64 ″ with FHD + resolution, and the main camera with four modules and the main 6.5 megapixel. The battery in the device is not small 12 mAh, and it comes with fast 5000 W charging. The fingerprint scanner has moved to the side edge, which has become fashionable lately. NFC module, 18 mm audio jack, Type-C in place, as well as an 3.5 megapixel front camera, for which a round cutout is made in the display. In terms of design, the device is not bad, although due to the layout of the camera unit it reminds something of the Samsung Galaxy S8. In general, this is an interesting novelty for its money, with a fashionable quad camera, with a 20 ° wide-angle lens and night mode, a good IPS display and a capacious battery.
The second novelty OPPO A91 is already more interesting in terms of characteristics, but it also costs 27 rubles. She has a 990 ″ AMOLED display with a fingerprint scanner underneath, 6.4 GB of RAM and 8 GB of permanent memory. The processor here is MediaTek, but this is a very peppy Helio P128 with Mali-G70 graphics. The battery is smaller, at 72 mAh, but with support for fast charging VOOC 4020, which charges from 3.0 to 0% in just 50 minutes, and the necessary power supply is already included. The main camera is also with 30 modules, but the main one is already 4 megapixels, plus there is an 48 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and according to the developer, a very good night mode Ultra Night 8. The model has a nice design and a small body thickness, only 2.0 mm, without the camera protrusion. Of course, NFC, 7.9mm and Type-C are available. It’s strange that the A3.5 is running Android 91, while the younger model A9.0 is running Android 52. True, the manufacturer promises to soon release an update to version 10, and even with a new version of its own ColorOS shell.
And last week we released a review of two budget smartphones from another Chinese company, you can read:

All devices included in the kit will be available separately, and the kit itself costs 16 rubles.

A set of two lamps costs 11 rubles.
- Philips Hue Go – a portable lamp that runs on a built-in battery and does not require a mains connection. You can take it with you for reading on the balcony or in bed before bed. It can gradually turn on in the morning and darken in the evening, mimicking the natural light cycle and helping to maintain circadian rhythms (the cycle of production of necessary hormones in the body, which is influenced by light). The price of the lamp is 7 rubles.
- Philips Hue Lightstrip – LED strip that allows you to decorate the space while remaining hidden. The price of a basic 2 meter module is 6 rubles, and an additional 990 meter module costs 1 rubles.
All products officially presented in Russia, of course, receive an official guarantee, and they also learned how to work with the voice assistant Alice from Yandex. Now you can control the light not only from your smartphone through the localized Philips Hue app, but also by voice through the assistant.
Audi brings e-tron to Russia
Carmaker Audi has begun taking orders in Russia for its all-electric e-tron crossover. The starting price of the car is 5 rubles, but after playing around with the configurator and adding the basic options that should be in a modern car, we immediately get a price in the region of 595 rubles. As a result, despite the lower starting price of the model in comparison with the competitor Jaguar I-Pace, which was the first to enter our market, the e-tron from Audi with similar equipment is obtained in the same price category.
Of the interesting options for the e-tron, it is worth noting the virtual exterior mirrors, which project the image from the cameras onto the OLED panels in the cabin on the doors. By default, the model comes with classic rear-view mirrors, but by paying 88 rubles, you can touch the future.
The battery in the e-tron is 95 kWh, according to the automaker, it is capable of providing a range of about 400 km. You will have to wait about 11 hours from a standard 8.5 kW charging station for a full battery charge, and super-fast 150 kW charging stations can recharge a car in just 40 minutes, but there are no such in Russia yet, the most powerful we have installed is 50 kW.
The material about the e-tron rival, the electric crossover Jaguar I-Pace, has already been published on the website:
Start of orders for the new Land Rover Defender
Jaguar Land Rover announces the start of accepting orders in Russia for the first 130 Land Rover Defenders of the new generation in SE and HSE trim levels. The cost of the versions available for pre-order starts from 4 512 000 rubles. A full price list including revised and more affordable trim levels will be announced this summer. Sales of the model on the Russian market will start in the fall of 2020.
Land Rover Defender is a completely rethought classic, with the release of a new generation, the company is trying to please the younger generation, although fans of the brand scold her for such a step. In my opinion, the model turned out to be interesting and in the spirit of the times, but the classics are good, but sometimes you need to take a new step into the future.
A week with Redmi Note 9s
The Redmi Note 9s smartphone from Xiaomi is a rather strange model from the new line. It went on sale a week before the global announcement of the Redmi Note 9 series, and even the only one of the new trinity lost the NFC module, which began to be installed in Redmi Note devices starting from the previous version. As a result, we get a seemingly new device with an up-to-date design, a fast fingerprint scanner on the side, good performance, but without NFC.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory, and a 6.67 ″ IPS display with FHD + resolution. The device has enough performance for various tasks, including modern games, but the first versions of the firmware are full of lags, which makes you sad. So sometimes with a long delay, the desktops are loaded after unlocking, you stand for 10 seconds and look at the blank wallpaper. A couple of times, I lost access to the shutter, and it was possible to return it only after rebooting the device. This behavior is quite common for Xiaomi devices, with new updates, bugs are removed, but the new firmware will not arrive on Redmi Note 9s.
The screen is large and quite high-quality, only the factory film on the screen does not shine with quality, it does not have an oleophobic coating, and its edges interfere with gestures. It’s nice, of course, that the film comes with the device, but I would prefer it to be an option, and not immediately glued to the display.
The fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button and located on the side edge, which has now become fashionable, works accurately and quickly. But I would like the button to be drowned deeper into the body, otherwise you cling to its edges with your finger. The 5020 mAh battery provides more than a day of autonomous operation, and the kit already comes with a power supply for fast charging.
The main camera with four modules, which has already become the norm for the middle price segment. The block of cameras is square, somewhat reminiscent of Bender from “Futurama” and is shifted to the center, which somehow refreshes the appearance of the device. The main module is 48 megapixels, there is an 8 megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5 megapixel camera for macro photography and a 2 megapixel depth module. In general, the quality of the camera for a device that costs less than 20 rubles is very good, so the owners will obviously not be disappointed with it.
Redmi Note 9s turned out to be a good smartphone for 17 rubles, and some stores are already selling it for 990 rubles. For this money, you get a stylish smartphone in interesting colors, however, with a very branded back, a large high-quality IPS display, a good camera, good performance and a capacious battery. If the lack of NFC is not critical for you, then you can safely take it. Yes, you will have to wait a while for Xiaomi to remove small bugs in the firmware, but I want to believe that this will happen soon.
