Chinese court recognizes homosexuality as a mental illness

According to activists, they have been trying for the past few years to challenge in court the wording used in the university textbook on mental deviations, writes Lenta.ru. But ultimately, in September 2020, the court decided to agree with the authors’ position, stating that the claim was recognized as nothing more than a “difference in perception”.

Recall that since 1997, homosexuality has been a criminal offense in China. In this regard, many gays try to hide their addictions not only from others, but also from their relatives. As a result, they very often enter into traditional marriages.
