TVLine, citing its sources, reports that Clancy Brown will play the role of the antagonist in the new season of Dexter. The actor is known for his roles in the TV series Billions and the movie The Shawshank Redemption.
Clancy will play Kurt Caldwell, the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake. According to the official description, Kurt “made the American dream come true, going from driving big rigs like his father did to having a few cars and a local truck stop”:
Strong, generous, beloved by all – he is a real man of the people. If he supports you, consider yourself lucky. But if you’ve crossed Kurt’s path or offended someone he cares about, only God will help you.
It is not known how the fates of Dexter Morgan and Kurt Caldwell will intersect, but it is known that events will take place seven years after the season finale in 2013. Leading actor Michael C. Hall hopes viewers will enjoy this finale better:
I put myself in a group of people who wondered, “What the hell happened to this guy?” So I’m glad to be back. I have never had this experience of playing a character in many years.
Dexter’s new season is scheduled for fall 2021. There will be 10 episodes in total. In addition to Clancy Brown, two more new characters will appear on the show.
