Samsung today officially unveiled ISOCELL 2.0 technology to improve light sensitivity and reduce noise in image sensors for advanced smartphone cameras.
The South Korean giant first introduced ISOCELL technology in 2013. It reduces color cross-talk between pixels by creating a physical barrier. As a result, small pixels are able to provide more accurate color reproduction.
In the first version of ISOCELL technology, physical barriers were fabricated using metal. This was followed by the ISOCELL Plus method: it assumes that the “walls” around the pixels are made on the basis of a new optimized material.
And now the ISOCELL 2.0 technology has been announced, which provides for further improvement of the structure of the barriers. As a result, light sensitivity is increased and color crosstalk is minimized.
As a result, even tiny pixels are able to absorb enough light to produce crisp, colorful, high-resolution images. Below you can watch a video with a story about ISOCELL technology:
