We reported yesterday that reputable publication DigiTimes has confirmed the launch of Apple’s OLED tablets next year. New details have become known today. A report from the Taiwanese publication says that the company’s first tablet with an OLED matrix will be the 10,9-inch iPad Air. In addition, 16-inch MacBook Pros can go to OLED panels.
DigiTimes claims that the first iPad with an OLED matrix (most likely it will be an updated iPad Air) will be launched into mass production in the fourth quarter of this year, and its announcement will take place in early 2022. It is also reported that in addition to the 10,9-inch iPad, Apple is also considering using OLED displays in the 12,9-inch iPad Pro, as well as the 16- or 17-inch MacBook Pro. However, according to DigiTimes, Apple has yet to make a final decision on whether to equip the MacBook Pro with OLED displays.
Curiously, Apple has not even presented any devices with Mini-LED-matrices yet, and there are already rumors about its transition to OLED panels. DigiTimes explains this by the fact that these two technologies will be used in the company’s devices in parallel and will be aimed at different audiences. We will remind, already this month is expected to launch a 12,9-inch iPad Pro with a Mini-LED-matrix and a productive 5nm A14 Bionic chipset.
