Recently, it became known that Instagram has adopted a new policy that prohibits adults from texting teens if the latter are not following the former. This policy protects users over the age of 13 but under the age of 18. Currently, only children 13 years of age or older can, in principle, register with Instagram.
But in the new version, younger children will also be able to create an account. BuzzFeed learned about the development of children’s Instagram from the internal correspondence of the American company.
Development will be led by Pavni Divanji, who previously worked at Google and oversaw YouTube Kids.
It is noted that parents will be able to control the children’s version of Instagram.
