Intel will soon share details on its upcoming discrete gaming GPUs. The company has posted a short video highlighting the upcoming Xe-HPG graphics architecture and hinted at the timing of the release of information about them.

In a half-minute video, Intel showed how the already released discrete entry-level Xe-LP GPU gets a boost of energy and determination, as a result of which it turns into an Intel Xe-HPG chip for powerful gaming graphics cards.

At the moment, it is not known for certain what the Intel Xe-HPG graphics processor will be. Judging by the fact that the entry-level chip grows in height by 5 times in the video (by the number of cubes), we can assume a similar increase in the number of Execution units (EU) by 128 times as well. The full version of the Xe-LP is rumored to have 1 EUs, although the Intel DG96 uses a 512 EU version. But, if the assumption is correct, a full-fledged Xe-HPG can offer XNUMX EU. Actually, it is precisely this number of computing units that rumors have been attributed to him for a long time.

The release of accelerators based on Intel Xe-HPG is expected towards the end of this year. According to rumors, future Intel gaming graphics cards will be able to offer GPUs with 128, 384 and 512 execution units. The flagship should be able to compete with older graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA, such as the Radeon RX 6800 XT and GeForce RTX 3080.
