PC Gamer noticed that after the release of patch 1.3 for Crusader Kings III, support for modifications with same-sex marriage was removed from the game. True, the decision of Paradox Interactive is not related to censorship – the mentioned mods had to be banned when fixing certain problems in gaming systems.
The developer’s comment reads: “In the current case, the change was part of a set of fixes related to the behavior of concubines in the game. It led to mistakes, for example, when dead people became concubines. This was in no way implemented to prevent players from adding same-sex marriage to Crusader Kings III. “.
“The problem is that at the moment there are some features in the base game that make it difficult to add official legal same-sex marriages to modifications without harming specific game aspects, – reads further in the statement. – The Crusader Kings III team and Paradox Interactive in general are very conscious about the issue of representativity in their projects, and same sex romances have been included in CKIII since launch, but we understand that this is not the same as a legal relationship. “
Paradox Interactive will fix this issue for the foreseeable future and release an update accordingly. But if you believe the words of a programmer from the Crusader Kings III team, it will not be released soon.
