Barnes & Noble has announced the addition of a 10-inch model to the Nook family of tablets and readers, co-created with Lenovo. The company announced plans to introduce a new tablet optimized for reading e-books last week.
Compared to its predecessor Nook in 2018, the new model has a more modern design, narrower bezels around the screen, and longer battery life for the same price of $ 129,99.
Like its predecessor, the new product is equipped with a 10,1-inch IPS-display with Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels). Thanks to the thinner bezels, the screen-to-bezel ratio is 85%. The new Nook is based on an unspecified 2,3GHz processor from an unspecified manufacturer and comes with 32GB of flash memory expandable via a microSD card. Tablet weight is 420 g.
The battery life of the novelty is about 10 hours, while the predecessor has this figure of 8,5 hours.
Like the previous members of the Nook family, the new tablet runs Android with Barnes & Noble Nook software, which provides the ability to read and purchase e-books from the branded bookstore, as well as support for Google Play and Google Assistant.
The new Nook tablet will go on sale in early April.
