It became known that users of the web version of the Microsoft Word text editor can now literally convert documents into a PowerPoint presentation in just a few mouse clicks. This feature was first announced last month and is now more widespread.
It is worth noting that the tool for converting documents into presentations is available only to users with an active Microsoft 365 subscription. The conversion process itself is extremely simple. It is enough to open the required document in Word and select the “Export” option from the “File” menu. After that, it remains to select the “Export to PowerPoint presentation” item and wait until the necessary transformations are performed. When the file is finished processing, the user will be prompted for a name for the resulting presentation. The file itself will be saved in the user’s OneDrive root folder.
«This feature leverages the power of artificial intelligence to save you time and provide Designer-based slide design options in PowerPoint. Slides are derived from section headings in your document, so make sure your Word document is organized appropriately for the best experience. Based on the keywords in the document, Designer in PowerPoint will select images, icons, videos, themes, and fonts to organize your content. If necessary, you can always edit the options suggested by the algorithm.“, – said in a message from Microsoft.
According to reports, the new feature is not supported in Internet Explorer and Safari. In addition, currently only users interacting with documents in English can use it. Language support is expected to expand over the next few months.
If you notice an error, select it with the mouse and press CTRL + ENTER.
