YouTube channel author Daniel L has published a new video dedicated to World of Warcraft. In it, he showed how iconic locations from the famous MMORPG on the Unreal Engine 4 with ray tracing technology can look like. The enthusiast did not create the resources and materials themselves, but only selected suitable ones from various sources, which he referred to under the video.
The video shows the following locations: the capital of the people of Stormwind, a city in Elwynn Forest called Goldshire, Duskwood and Grizzly Hills as a bonus. Already from the first frames it is clear that Daniel L tried to carefully inherit the original source. For example, Stormwind enthusiast has managed to show a majestic and large city with many stone buildings, blue roofs and Alliance flags. Duskwood is even more mysterious and mesmerizing than Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft. Ray tracing technology helped to achieve this effect, which provided soft shadows and global illumination in real time.
Daniel L’s video was liked by many users. In the comments, people noted that the locations from World of Warcraft on Unreal Engine 4 look great. And one of the most popular posts reads: “I would have played WoW for 16 more years if it looked like this.”.
