To date, Tesla has installed over 6000 Supercharger stations across Europe, including over 600 in the UK and Ireland. It took Tesla eight years to deploy 6039 chargers in Europe – the first was installed in Norway in 2013, along with the Model S.
The pace seems to be growing exponentially: in 2016 there were 1267 such high-speed chargers, and in 2019 – 3711. The government’s steps to stimulate the development of the infrastructure of electric vehicles contributed to this: in the last two years alone, Tesla has installed more than 2000 Superchargers.
Tesla has currently deployed chargers at 601 filling stations in 27 European countries. Most recently, the company began installing charging stations in Athens, Greece, but currently the largest electric fuel stations are located in Norway: for example, Nebbenese has 44 Superchargers.
Tesla reported: “Since the start of sales Model 3 Tesla car owners have made over 3000 trips to and from the Moon, or about 22 trips to and from Mars, using only the European Supercharger network of charging stations».
There are now 624 Superchargers in the UK, more than 100 of which have been installed since the summer when Tesla installed its 500th charger in the UK. The Tesla Supercharger network includes both older V2 models and the latest V3 devices. Most V2 chargers so far can offer 150kW of charging power, so it takes 85 minutes to fully charge a Model S with an 75kWh battery.
For example, just over 130 V3 chargers are currently installed in the UK. They have a power of 250 kW and can provide approximately 1600 km of travel for Tesla vehicles per hour of charging.
