Fortune turned 70-year-old Tim Shea (Tim Shea). A man who had struggled with addiction for many years moved into a 37 square meter house. It was 3D printed by the nonprofit New Story and technology firm ICON.
Tim Shea has been living in the house for several months. “When I found out that I would be the first person in America to move into a 3D-printed house, I thought it was pretty cool,” said the former homeless man.
The house was printed in just 48 hours. At the same time, 20-30% less building materials were used than when creating an ordinary building.
