This became clear from the Yandex Transparency report. It is reported that compared to the first half of the year, the number of requests in the second increased by almost 10%. Yandex satisfied most of the requests. However, the number of refusals still increased compared to the first half of 2020 – from 16 to 22%.
Basically, the authorities requested data from users of Yandex.Mail, Yandex.Passport, Yandex.Taxi and Yandex.Drive.
In the new report, Yandex also disclosed for the first time statistics on requests for the “right to oblivion”. According to this law, any user can demand that search engines delete information about himself if it is unreliable, irrelevant, or distributed in violation of Russian law. Yandex said that most often users asked to delete information due to irrelevance (4,5 thousand).
