Hyundai’s high-end car brand Genesis used 3281 drones to create its logo in Shanghai’s night sky on March 29 to celebrate the brand’s launch in China. This number of UAVs, according to Genesis, has made it possible to set a new Guinness World Record in terms of simultaneously raised and controlled drones.
The Genesis logo formed in the air can be seen in the above photograph. In addition, Genesis posted a video showing the process of creating other figures in the air, including a galaxy, an arm, DNA, car silhouettes, and the words “Hello China” in English and Chinese.
The previous Guinness record was held by Shenzhen Damoda Intelligent Control Technology, which used 3051 unmanned aerial vehicles at the September 20 exhibition.
