Publishing house Nacon on its official website announced the acquisition of the formerly independent French studio Passtech Games (Masters of Anima, Curse of the Dead Gods).
Despite the new owner, current CEO and founder of Passtech Games, Sylvain Passot, will remain at the head of the company he founded.
It is also reported that Passtech Games will keep “High degree of autonomy” to focus on “The creative side of production”while Nacon will provide “Financial, editorial and advertising support”.
“We are delighted to join Nacon, whose energy and enthusiasm for our projects we value. This is a great opportunity to continue developing side by side with other studios in the company and offer more original games. “– said Passo.
Passtech Games was founded in 2012 and has released several games during its existence, but Nacon in particular celebrated the recent roguelike Curse of the Dead Gods.
No specific metrics have been named, but the French publisher sees Curse of the Dead Gods as “great success”: in terms of both estimates from journalists, and demonstrated financial results.
Curse of the Dead Gods debuted on Steam Early Access in Spring 2020. The full release took place on February 23, 2021 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
