Internet sources report that the Chinese company Xiaomi is close to releasing the flagship tablet computers of the Mi Pad 5 family: these devices may debut in the current quarter.
It is known that the series will include two models – the basic version of the Mi Pad 5 and the more powerful modification of the Mi Pad 5 Pro, aimed at the premium segment of the market.
It is alleged that the “heart” of the Mi Pad 5 will be the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, which combines eight cores with a frequency of up to 3,0 GHz, a Mali-G77 MC9 graphics accelerator and a 5G modem with a data transfer rate of up to 4,7 Gbps.
The Mi Pad 5 Pro variant, in turn, will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip: this product combines eight Kryo 585 cores with a clock speed of up to 3,2 GHz, an Adreno 650 graphics unit and a Snapdragon X55 5G cellular modem.
The older version is credited with having a high-quality 2K display measuring about 11 inches diagonally. The refresh rate of this panel will supposedly be 120 or even 144 Hz. The response frequency of the sensor layer is up to 480 Hz.
Apparently, both models will be offered in modifications with the ability to work in fifth generation mobile networks. The equipment can include a multi-module main camera.
Canalys statistics show that 160,6 million tablets were shipped in the global market last year. In a pandemic, the demand for such gadgets has skyrocketed by 28% compared to 2019.
