As it turned out, representatives from Netflix and Sony Pictures Entertainment have already signed an exclusive licensing agreement for Sony films. So, starting in 2022, the premiere of Sony, after the end of the screening in cinemas, will only be available on Netflix. This agreement covers the movie based on the game Uncharted, as well as the new part of the movie “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
It is also noted that the deal is subject to all Sony films that the company releases specifically for “streaming or for which it later decides to grant a streaming license.” The New York Times noted that Sony has promised to shoot at least two pictures for Netflix for live broadcast. The companies agreed to cooperate for five years.
