Roskomnadzor came out with a refutation of the reports that appeared that the established in the framework of the implementation of the law on “Sovereign internet” the equipment can affect the operation of telecom operators’ networks and cause disruptions.
The press service of the department called the information that failures in the networks of large regional and federal telecom operators occurred due to technical means of countering threats (TSPU), installed at the request of Roskomnadzor for the implementation of the law on “Sovereign runet”.
In particular, we previously conveyed the words of “Kommersant”, to which a source told that the regional operator “Obit”, faced with a failure, had to turn off TSPU in order to restore the network.
“The material contains information that has not been verified by the publication and does not correspond to reality. TSPU equipment works without failures and does not affect the operation of telecom operators’ networks “, – told RBC in the press service of the regulator. The department added that the work of infrastructure “Sovereign internet” is under the constant control of the service of the Center for Monitoring and Management of Public Communication Networks (CMU SSOP), which interacts with telecom operators around the clock and analyzes “all possible problems with their infrastructure». “For the entire period of operation of the TSPU, there have been no comments from telecom operators”, – noted in Roskomnadzor.
As for the incident near Obit, Roskomnadzor reported that in April it had recorded a loss of communication with TSPU at two operator nodes in St. Petersburg. “The technical support staff promptly contacted the operator’s representatives, where they were confirmed that there was an accident at the communication center, but they refused to provide detailed technical information (log files) necessary to identify the causes of the problems, – said representatives of the regulator. – The operator “Obit”, trying to solve the problems with communication that had arisen in his network, independently, without warning from the CMU of the SSOP, turned off the equipment of the TSPU, which did not solve the problem. “ According to them, after the equipment was restarted three hours later, “Analysis of the TSPU log files did not reveal any malfunctions in the operation of the equipment prior to the accident”.
