In February, NVIDIA introduced dedicated GPUs for CMP HX mining. The series includes four models that provide different levels of efficiency in mining Ethereum cryptocurrency – from 26 to 86 Mhesh / s. It was announced that these cards will be distributed exclusively by NVIDIA partners, promising that some models will appear on sale before the end of the first quarter. Today the Gigabyte company has officially presented the junior accelerator of the series, the CMP 30HX model.
The manufacturer does not indicate which processor is the basis for the CMP 30HX model, and what level of performance in single precision (FP32) operations it provides. However, this information has long been known from other sources. The CMP 30HX model uses a modification of the Turing TU116-100 chip with 1408 CUDA cores. Gigabyte points out that the mining video card is equipped with 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 192-bit bus and an effective frequency of 14 GHz. It is also reported that the base frequency of the GPU of the video card is 1530 MHz, and in Boost mode it rises to 1785 MHz. This means that the characteristics of the CMP 30HX are very similar to the GeForce GTX 1660 Super.
The graphics accelerator is equipped with a relatively simple cooling system with an aluminum heatsink, one copper heat pipe and two fans. The dimensions of the video card are 224,5 x 121,2 x 39,6 mm. For additional power supply, the novelty has one 8-pin connector.
The manufacturer recommends using a PSU with a power of 450 watts or more. The graphics accelerator has no video outputs.
Recently there was information that the Gigabyte CMP 30HX model appeared on sale in Romania, where it is estimated at about $ 720. Whether this price tag reflects the recommended price is unknown. Gigabyte itself does not indicate the price of the new product. Perhaps the most interesting part is that the manufacturer only gives the new product a three-month warranty.
