As Reddit users write, after the update, the problem has smoothed out a bit. People note that Sony has changed the setting for the so-called stick dead zone. This is the name of the zone in which the stick position is considered neutral.

This, however, is not a complete solution to the problem. IFixit previously disassembled the DualSense controller to find out why the sticks were drifting. Disassembly showed that the roots of the problem are at a constructive level. It’s all about the lifespan for the RKJXV potentiometers in DualSense. That is, any software tweaks will only postpone troubles, but will not fix them entirely.

The firmware update also shows Sony is aware of the problem.
