Citing an unnamed Taiwanese partner NVIDIA portal HKEPC reports that sales of the graphics accelerator GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will begin on May 26. It will be officially unveiled the previous day. According to the resource, another novelty is expected in June – the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

According to the Chinese edition, NVIDIA has long planned the release of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti model. Initially, this video card was supposed to receive a GA102-250 GPU. Exactly the same is used in the flagship model GeForce RTX 3090. In this case, the novelty would have only 20 GB of GDDR6X memory, instead of 24 GB for the flagship. However, these plans were abandoned due to, among other things, a shortage of GDDR6X memory chips.

But the company did not abandon the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti itself. The manufacturer decided to use another GPU – GA102-225, in which the number of CUDA cores was reduced from 10 496 to 10 240. Also, the video card was equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6X video memory with support for the 384-bit bus. According to the source, the graphics accelerator is built on a PG132 SKU 18 PCB. The new version of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti was equipped with a software and hardware mining limiter. When trying to mine cryptocurrency, the GPU of the video card will automatically reduce the mining efficiency by 50%.

According to HKEPC, in early June NVIDIA will introduce another video card – the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. It uses a PG141 SKU 10 PCB and a GA104-400 GPU with 6144 CUDA cores. The novelty will receive all the same 8 GB of video memory as the regular version of the GeForce RTX 3070, but the memory will be high-speed, standard GDDR6X, and not GDDR6, as in the original version.
