The “Yaya” part of the name “Yayagram” means the word “granny” in Castilian dialect. To send a message via Yayagram, the user must plug the cable into the connector next to the recipient’s name. Then you need to hold the button and dictate the message into the microphone. The message then appears on the recipient’s smartphone as a regular voice message. When a Yayagram user receives a response, it is printed out using the built-in printer.
To assemble the device, the engineer used a Raspberry Pi 4 single board computer and cheap components. The printer, for example, is here similar to those used in cash registers. The engineer chose Telegram as the messenger because it is more open in terms of development.
The developer’s grandmother is 96 years old, and it is easier for her to operate with such a device than with a smartphone.
