Today we are going to take a look at how to add “Personalization” to the Control Panel in Windows 10, 8 and 7.
1. Download the ready-made file “personalization” to add “Personalization” to the Control Panel and go to step 5 of the instructions, or create it by following the instructions below.
In the search bar or in the “Run” menu (run by pressing the Win + R keys) enter notepad and press the Enter key.
2. In Notepad, paste the following text:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{580722ff-16a7-44c1-bf74-7e1acd00f4f9}]
@ = ”@% SystemRoot% System32 themecpl.dll, -1 # immutable1 ″
“InfoTip” = “@% SystemRoot% System32 themecpl.dll, -2 # immutable1”
“System.ApplicationName” = ”Microsoft.Personalization”
“System.ControlPanel.Category” = dword: 00000001
“System.Software.TasksFileUrl” = ”Internal”
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{580722ff-16a7-44c1-bf74-7e1acd00f4f9}DefaultIcon]
@ = ”% SystemRoot% System32 themecpl.dll, -1 ″
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{580722ff-16a7-44c1-bf74-7e1acd00f4f9}ShellOpencommand]
@=”explorer shell:::{ED834ED6-4B5A-4bfe-8F11-A626DCB6A921}”
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerControlPanelNameSpace{580722ff-16a7-44c1-bf74-7e1acd00f4f9}]
@ = “Personalization”
3. Go to “File” and click on “Save As”.
4. Choose any location to save the file (the main thing is that you can find it later) => in the “File name” line, enter any name you think of, just change the extension to reg (see picture). In our example, we name the file Personalization.reg and click on “Save”.
5. Open the saved file, click on “Yes” in the window that appears and “OK” in the next one.
That’s all for today, if you know other ways – write in the comments! Good luck ?
