If you have two operating systems installed on your computer, or you have added different boot options for your system, then when you turn on the computer, it offers a menu with the choice of the desired OS to start. A certain time will be given for selection, if you do nothing during this time – the system is loaded by default. In today’s article, we will look at how to make the desired system start by default, and how to change the time for selecting a system.
When you have two operating systems or added additional boot options, the window when you turn on the computer looks like this:
The selected option is highlighted and the time goes before it starts, if you do nothing, the selected option is launched by default. To change the display time of this menu, or change the selected system to start by default, do the following:
1.In the search bar, enter msconfig and select “System Configuration”. (you can also press the keys Win + r and in the window that appears, enter the command msconfig, then click “OK”).
2. Go to the “Download” tab and select the desired system in the list => after selecting at the bottom, click “Use by default” => also in the “Timeout” field, set the time in seconds, how much you want to have a selection menu in front of you => now press “Apply” and “OK”.
Everything, in such a simple way, you can set which of the installed operating systems will be loaded by default. That’s all for today, if there are additions – write comments! Good luck ?
