Adele has insisted her postponed Las Vegas shows will go ahead this year, as she hinted at plans to have another baby.
Breaking her silence over the controversial last-minute cancellation, the 33-year-old said she had “tried her hardest” to be ready for the residency, which was due to start in January and run until April.
“I regret that I kept going until late in that day,” she said, addressing criticism she received for cancelling the day before the first performance was scheduled at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Hotel.
She confirmed the shows would be rescheduled for this year, telling the Graham Norton Show they have to go ahead in 2022 because she “will be disappearing next year”, saying that she would like to have more children.
“Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”
“I will be disappearing in terms of my music,” she said, “but you might see a glimpse of me now and then and I won’t be in complete hiding.”
The singer has a nine-year-old son, Angelo, with her “soulmate” ex-husband Simon Konecki. They finalised their divorce last March after splitting in April 2019.
At this week’s Brit Awards, she dedicated her Best Album award to her family, saying: “I’d like to dedicate this award to my son and to Simon, his dad. This album was all of our journey, not just mine.”
